About PetGearLab

PetGearLab is a buying guide for connected pet equipment: automatic feeders, cameras, GPS trackers and self-cleaning litter boxes. The point is to help you work out which device fits your animal and your home.

How these guides are put together

From two sources: what the manufacturer publishes, and the pattern in publicly available owner reviews. That is research, not testing.

No animal has used any of this equipment on our behalf. There are no scores out of five and no six-week trial claims, because none of that happened. If it ever does, the site will say who ran the test, with what animal, and for how long.

Why that matters more here than elsewhere

A feeder that jams or a tracker that dies is not an inconvenience, it is an animal that does not get fed or found. So this site tries to be specific about failure modes owners report, and refuses to imply a confidence it has not earned.
